Sales Pipeline Funnel Graphic that includes both leads and opportunities

Question

I want to create a pipeline/funnel graphic that includes both leads and opportunities for a specific month, what is the best way to do this. Also is it possible to show the funnel on its side instead of vertical?

You are into Visualforce charting for something like that, or an Appexchange solution.  No OOTB report will combine them for you, and the reports definitely won't allow you to flip the funnel report 90 degrees
