Custom Form as a Custom Object?

We are trying to build a Custom object for one user to fill out while performing Quality Assurance on sales calls.  Normally, a custom object would work fine, but the field names (questions) are too long for standard fields.  Any other options?

I remember being in your shoes myself, back in the past.

Unfortunately, the character limit is 80 and is salesforce enforced. Even contacting support did not help, so had to reduce the character limit by rephrasing the questions.
