Workflow rule to auto-fill fields on Opportunities when a child record is created

What is the best way to auto-fill fields on an Opportunity record when a related child record is created?

    Make sure the Record that you are updating is correct. It should be:

     

    [Project_Summary_c].Project Name

     

    Assuming Project Name is the name of your Opportunity lookup field.
