I am using dataloader.io to create Accounts with associated Opportunities and Products.  I am also looking to copy certain fields from Contacts to Accounts.  I want to do this in bulk using dataloader.io.

In the first step (Account creation) I noticed that the Account creation is added to the Chatter feed of the user (admin) creating the records.

This is going to result in a lot of noise in the Chatter feed, to the tune of thousands of records.

Is there a way to prevent Chatter records from being created for bulk creation/update when using dataloader.io?

    Hi Steve,

I tested the same thing with my dev instance and my account upload from Dataloader.io didn't create any Chatter Feed posts. (Both All Company and What I Follow were clear after the upload finished.) There's no toggle in Dataloader.io that says to post or not post to the chatter feed, so I'm not altogether certain what the difference might be.

That said, you might try one thing before your next test import. Go to Setup > Customize > Chatter > Feed Tracking. Try to switch off the 'Enable Feed Tracking' on Accounts right before starting the import and turn it back on afterwards
