Why would my personal email template not appear for selection?

I have created a new personal email template from the Personal Setup page. When I go to Contacts/Tools/Mass Email Contacts in order to use the template to send a mass email, I can't complete Step 2 because the template doesn't appear. I only get as far as selecting the recipients in Step 1.

    Thank you very much. That was it. I had looked past the check box on the template edit page many times. I really appreciate it.
