Hello,

I can't seem to find much information on who has access to view approval history on a record. As far as I can tell, if you have read access to the object, you can see the approval history.

We have some mental health information that goes into our database. In those objects, we have varying levels of read access to each field, depending on the sensitivity of the information. So, there are a lot of profiles with at least read access to the mental health objects, but their field visibility settings vary.

Can all of those people see approval history and most importantly, approval comments? I am assuming so, but want to check. Is there any way to change this besides taking away their read access to the object?

Thanks!

As users can't report on approval history, you may use different pagelayout (where there is no approval put on)  for the user profiles that you don't want to see approval history. So, it is not in the layout; and as users can not access it alternatively via reports, as there is no reporting on approval history, users won't be able to see it.

But, I think salesforce is considering support of reporting on approval history, therefore this approach might not be good on the long run.
