How to create custom field on activity to look up value on related opportunity?

I'd like to have two fields on an event or task that will pull the 'Opportunity Owner' field as well as a custom text field from the related opportunity. Is it possible to create a custom field on activities to essentially look up a field on the related opportunity?

    No.  That kind of formula field is not supported on Activities (even though we'd all expect that it would behave just like other objects).
