Has anyone migrated to an APAC instance?

We're keen to know if anyone in the Asia Pacific region has migrated their Salesforce instance to the APAC data center in Japan. We'd like to know what did it take to migrate in terms of outage time, prep time, and did it improve responsiveness and maintenance outage times for your company? Would you recommend it?

    @muz... I have an unfortunate  feeling that it will be hard to find someone around here that has done it and will share. Most of us regulars would just be guessing on what it is like and how much downtime will happen. I personally would ask my sales rep. for a few referal companies that have done it.
