Hello,

We have a training environment (full sandbox) which we use to test in which gets refreshed from the production environment once or twice a year.  I created a Connected app to implement log in for our Website which uses the connected app and Community and right now we are testing in the training environment, we haven't moved this to production yet.  I've read that we need to create the connected app in the production environment then when the connected app gets moved to the training environment when it gets refreshed we won't lose the Connected apps key and consumer secret values.  I plan to add a new connected app to the production environment to be our permanent app with its keys before our next refresh so our training environment will always refresh with the same connected app and key/secret pair.

Can I use the same Connected app key/secret pair in both Production and Training after the refresh for website login from their respected communities?  Should I create two Connected apps in production (one Production, one for Training) and use the training connected app just for training?  I'm looking for guidance on how this is normally done as we refresh our training instance every year and I don't want to keep needing to create a new Connected app in training every time we refresh.

Thank You,

Brian

    @Samuel Rosen

    FYI.

    I believe you need to create the connected app in your prod and reuse the client ID / secret in your sandbox. Although it looks like your sandbox doesn't have the connected app, it will still work. Always create the connected app in prod!
