Lightning's in transition, what's step 2?

Dear all, I had the incredible honor to co-host a virtual Circle of Success on Lightning yesterday together with the incredible @Lauren Wheeler! It's been both fun and extremely insightful to listen and learn from the challenges that you our amazing Ohana are facing when transitioning your users to Lightning. The key thing I took away from yesterday was that it's not so much about the why you should move to Lightning, rather now it's all about "ok, we have a pilot group ready, they're on Lightning, what's next". Here are a few tips and tricks that we discussed which I believe might be helpful for all of you:

1. Bad data stays bad data, no matter if Classic or Lightning - One of the key aspects we went through is the fact that Lightning should be your chance to rethink and redesign all your processes. This means as well to start cleaning up your Org! If you have a Premier Success Plan or other advanced support packages (or even an Unlimited Edition license), you can leverage Accelerators such as the Org Health Assessment (https://sfdc.co/jOrHq). Also, you can use tools such as the Field Footprint App to help you ran easily reports on what fields are populated how often (%). This will help you not only dedicate the fields to the respective processes needed for your business, but will ensure that you can run meaningful reports in Lightning afterwards. 2. Lightning seems to be slower than Classic - which is a common perception but simply not true! Lightning isn't just a new UI - it's a whole new technology and therefore requires a different approach to optimize what we call your Experience Page Time or EPT. In order to better understand what areas or pages cause the longest page loading times, leverage out-of-the-box tools such as the Lightning Usage App (https://sfdc.co/jRWtW), activate the browser plugin to display the EPT directly in your right top corner of your tab (https://sfdc.co/bapNJK), follow these instructions to check other metrics such as the Octane score (https://sfdc.co/WSMMA) and invest 30 minutes of your time to tune in to this recorded session on Lightning performance best practice from Dreamforce: https://www.salesforce.com/video/7829472/
