Is anyone else having an issue where lighning wont display the details of a custom object? I think it is a known issue if you have too many formual fields but I changed my page to display less than the suggested amount and it still will not display.

I have had a similar issue in the past and it was related to a formula field itself. I had too many nested IF statements and it prevented the details from displaying. Support suggested that I change the syntax of my formula field. Once I did that, it worked. In my case, it was one formula field, in particular, that was causing the issue.
