Has anyone found solutions these lightning data entry annoyances?
We do a lot of manual field entry and overall, Lightning Experience seems a step backward in this regard. Efficient key entry (no mouse) is not considered at all. Here is my list of all of the issues which detract from efficient data entry. Let me know if any of these are a problem for you and especially if you have found any solutions for them. Most of them have ideas around them but are below the points threshold or are not yet on the road map.
- Field Tab order is only left right. Top/Bottom is available
- Double click field edit (quick edit) not available, only full edit mode
- Lookup field entry forces you to use mouse.
- Lookup field entry presents Quick create actions which can't be disabled (this is major)

Field Tab order - there is no way to control tab order during entry and the ideas around this don't seem to even be on the roadmap at this point.
Double click edit - in classic you can double click on a record field and edit just that field value. I call this "quick edit." In Lightning you always have to enter full edit screen which is also very annoying.
Lookup field entry - You can't just type a correct field value and tab through the field. You are forced to use lookup and then select (with mouse) the search results, otherwise you get an error even if you have typed the value exactly correct. This really slows down data entry and forces you to constantly grab the mouse just to fill in a field. With classic, you can enter a value and hit "enter" and be presented with search options, then use arrow and enter to select and commit with "Enter" no mouse required.
Lookup Field Quick create actions examples
- User must select warehouse on a sales order (a lookup relationship field). User is always prompted to "Add a New Warehouse".
- User looking up account on sales order and gets "New Account" prompt.
- User is looking up a product price and is prompted to create a new price record
- user is looking up an item and is prompted to create a new item master.... etc.. etc...
I think you get the idea. There seems to be no way to disable this except removing create rights completely via profile.
Any ideas or similar frustrations?
