Can someone help me by confirming the behavior in Lightning on Opportunity Team when transferring an Opportunity.

In Classic, when the user is changing ownership of the opportunity, there is a checkbox selection to 'Keep Opportunity Team' and specifically to 'Give current owner Read/Write access to opportunity upon transfer.'

In Lightning, the checkbox doesn't exist and when transferring ownership I see that the Opportunity Owner remains on the Opportunity Team, but with Read only access. 

Does an Opp Owner no longer have the ability to remain on the team with read/write access to the Opportunity after transferring it? 

Is there another way of managing this?
