@Andy Ruefenacht If you want the chatter post to appear under feeds on record detail page, add post on record (account, contact etc) detail page and @mention yourself so that the same post also appears on your profile page. This approach is same if chatter posts are generated programmatically or from process builders etc. Some additional info, FeedItem is the backend object associated with chatter posts.
