I have seen in release notes that Forecasts are now available in Lightning but from my initial search in our instance, I do not see this functionality, am I missing something? We have forecasting enabled in Classic but this would be a big factor in our decision to make the switch to lightning.

@Cody Chambers, Collaborative Forecasts are available in Lightning Experience. Here is the Help for setting up this feature: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=forecasts3_setup_intro.htm Customizable Forecasts, however, won't be brought over to Lightning Experience. If you're using Customizable Forecasts, here's a topic that walks through considerations for migrating to Collaborative Forecasts:
