    Hi Brad Llewellyn - and welcome to KC!

    The KC group meets quarterly and we just had our Q2 meeting a few weeks ago. Our next meeting is expected to take place mid to late September.

    You should receive a registration invitation directly from Tableau, but you can also keep an eye on these boards for an announcement.

Hey All,

First, I enjoyed meeting some of you at yesterday's Customer Showcase at the College Basketball Experience.

Second, I am wrestling with Time formats in a visualization and need some help figuring out what I'm missing.

I have created a Gantt chart showing the times teachers and students arrive and depart from schools.  The data was entered as time, but pulled in from Access as datetime, so all the times defaulted to a date of December 30th, 1899.  Not a big deal as long as I'm only showing the hours and minutes, right?

Well, in the Tooltip, I have the following:  "<MINUTE(Depart Elem)>" and when I look at the preview, I see "3:09 PM", but when I publish the visualization to Tableau Public, I am seeing "December 30, 1899 3:09 PM" - any suggestions on what I need to do to fix it?

Here is the visualization in question:  https://public.tableau.com/views/Info_for_Negotiations/Overview

Thanks!

Ted

    Ted,

    Not sure what preview is showing on the minute. In the full Tableau Desktop, I see the full date.

    One approach to solve it would be to create a new dimension and set the default date format for that object to ‘hh:mm:ss’

    You also can use datename() and concatenate the pieces together into exactly the format that you want.

Hello Everyone,

I am a beginner at using Tableau and I am trying to get the count distinct of people who had did both ordered more and spent less. In better words I'm trying to see the count of people that did both ordered more and spent less. As of right now this is my calculation:

{INCLUDE [Customer Name]:[Ordered_More(calc)] + [Spentless_(calc)]}

The [Customer Name] is the dimension variable that I am using to get the count distinct of people who had did both order more and spent less. The [Ordered_More(calc)] is the variable is that I am using that gets the people that have ordered more and the [Spentless_(calc)] is the variable that I am using to gets the people who spent less. What I am trying to do is get the number of people who did both ordered more and had spent less but the calculation I have now is just adding the individual people who ordered more and the individual people who spent less and instead of counting only the individual people that did both ordered more and spent less.
