Hello, community!

  1. I'm trying to delete a deprecated Flow version.
  2. When I try to delete the deprecated flow version, it says I cannot delete it because there is an Orchestration Step dependency.
  3. I've tried to delete the deprecated Orchestration version that calls the metioned flow. But it says there is an Flow Interview dependency.
  4. Then, I tried to delete the mentioned Orchestration Flow Interview dependency, but it says I do not have access to delete it.
  5. I cannot neither delete these errored Flow Interviews, neither change their Status to canceled.

I have no idea what to do now. I found this Salesforce documentation that says it is possible with the "Run Flows" permission, but it does not work: Delete a Flow Interview | Salesforce Help

I also have not been able to find the "Manage Orchestration Runs" permission mentioned in this Salesforce link:

Resume a Failed Orchestration | Salesforce Help

.

Could anyone help me? Thank you!

The version won't delete because those FlowInterview records are still attached to it — that's a hard platform rule, so you have to clear the interviews first, not the flow (and not from that dependency-error dialog, which is where the 'no access' comes from). Go to Setup → Paused and Failed Flow Interviews, find the ones tied to this flow/orchestration, select them and Delete, then retry deleting the version.

The access errors are a permissions gap. To delete interviews/runs you don't own you need Manage Flow, and for the orchestration ones specifically Manage Orchestration Runs. That 'Manage Orchestration Runs' permission lives in a Permission Set under System Permissions (search 'orchestration') — it only appears once Flow Orchestration is enabled in the org, which is likely why you couldn't find it. Grant those two and the Setup page will let you delete all of them.

If an orchestration interview still won't show on that page, you can mass-delete via a scheduled Flow (or anonymous Apex) that queries FlowInterview by the flow's name and deletes them — Automation Champion has a ready recipe for exactly this.
