When I copy and paste from the 'Field Listing' on a Datasource tab, to an Excel spreadsheet, I seem to lose the 'Type' column:
Any ideas on how I can get the 'Type' column to copy and paste?

the Type is how the data is cast in Tableau and has no meaning in Excel - check the data formats as it is entered into excel to see that it has been cast properly there
