On my data source tab the entire left pane where sheets and connections should be has disappeared. It has been replaced with some kind of data source list table. Any ideas on how to fix because I can make any new connections now.

It looks like you're using a published data source. If you want to update connections on it you need to create a local copy first. Right click on the data source and select "Create Local Copy". Then right-click on the published data source again and select Replace and replace it with the local copy. When you edit the local copy you'll see the screen you're expecting.
