Dear All.

I have 1 dashboard (Dashboard 1) with dashboard action that will jump to another dashboard (Dashboard 2) which Dashboard 2 contains 2 sheets

I am using Filter Action that will pass 2 selected fields (Category and Year) from Dashboard 1 to Dashboard 2

In dashboard 2, I have Year Filter. The problem is if I use this filter action to jump to dashboard 2 from dashboard1 (ex: by selecting the menu from Year 2013),

and after that in dashboard 2 the user change the year filter to other value, ex: 2014. the 1st worksheet in dashboard 2 will show the correct value. But the 2nd worksheet in dashboard 2 will be blank even though it has the records for 2014 and the filter is applied to both worksheet 1 and worksheet 2

Is this tableau bugs? the filter in dashboard 2 only clearing the action filter in worksheet 1 but not in worksheet2

Thank You

Best Regards,

Ratna

that's an easy one.. the dashboard filter interferes with the filter set on Dashboard 2. So basically there are 2 time filters in Dashboard 2: 1x Filter Action, 1x Year Filter.

The solution in my opinion would be to show the action filter instead of the year filter. Each action is just a filter applied to the sheets in the dashboard. You can show them in the dashboard instead of normal year filters. Just try it: when you are in Dashboard 2, select any sheet, go to "Filters" and you will see something like "Action: Year filter". Show this in the dashboard and remove the Year filter. By doing this you avoid having 2 filters for the same column.
