Our use case is to have a pop-up message display to users who are assigned to a queue when a new lead record is created. Will your app work for this and if so how?

    Hi @Ramona Marshall

Yes, This use case can be handled, but there are a few important details about how Salesforce queues work that determine how the popup can be shown.

    How it works

A queue itself is not a real user, so it cannot “open” Salesforce or receive a popup directly. But when a new Lead is assigned to a queue, the queue members (real users) can receive a notification or popup depending on how the app or automation is set up.

Two reliable ways to show a popup to queue members

    1. Popup when a queue member opens Salesforce

If your app supports showing an on-screen popup (like a banner, toast, or modal), you can configure it to appear when:

    • The user logs in
    • The user refreshes a page
    • Or the user opens the Lead list view / homepage

The popup would show something like: “You have a new Lead assigned to your queue.”

    This works by checking:

    • Whether the user is a member of the queue
    • Whether a new Lead was assigned since their last login or page load

This is fully supported by most notification or popup components.

    2. Popup triggered when the user opens the lead itself

If your app supports record-level popups, you can trigger the message when:

    • The user (who is a queue member) opens the newly created Lead
    • The Lead is still owned by a queue

This is technically the cleanest option because it matches Salesforce ownership rules.

    What cannot be done automatically

Salesforce cannot instantly “push” a popup the moment a Lead is created — because users are not actively listening for events unless a component or custom code is running.

    So real-time popups require:

    • A Lightning Web Component
    • Or a third-party app with real-time event listening (Platform Events or CometD Streaming API)

If your app supports those technologies, then yes, it can show a live popup.
