Hi! I'm developing a new app, and when i install it into my workspace, it says "Sending messages to this app has been turned off.”
I CAN succesfully communicate with it by @-mentioning them in e.g. #general (causing it to send DMs to me). Do you know why sending DMs to it is disabled? I wonder if I’m missing some required permission.

Hey @Kirill Kireyev , if you are the app developer and have access to the config at api.slack.com/apps/[id], then you have the ability to toggle the ability to send messages to the bot. You can find the setting's checkbox in the App Home section of your app config.
Sounds like this setting is unchecked for you. So you will want to check it to enable the message input. Lots of reasons a developer might want to turn this off and have the chat be read-only from the user's perspective. That said, when user's can't DM the bot, it is expected that the bot can still send notifications to the user (as you mentioned). Hope this helps.
