Hi all,

I have three users, each with delegated access to a shared inbox. All three are Salesforce users. They have the Gmail integration set up in their personal inboxes and need to use it for logging emails/creating leads there, but I'd also like them to be able to log emails from the shared inbox. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

This is a common challenge with the Gmail integration in Salesforce, as it primarily works with individual inboxes rather than shared mailboxes.

However, each Salesforce org has a unique email-to-Salesforce BCC address that users can manually add when sending emails from the shared inbox. This will log emails under the correct records in Salesforce, but it won’t provide the same UI experience as the standard Gmail integration.

Another way, if logging emails as Cases or custom records is an option, you can set up an Email-to-Case flow or an Apex-based Email Service to capture emails sent from the shared inbox and log them in Salesforce.

Finally, some email integration tools, like Einstein Activity Capture, Groove, or Cirrus Insight, support shared inboxes and can sync emails more seamlessly with Salesforce. It might be worth checking if one of these aligns with your needs.

Hope it helps with your task
