Hi,
We work with resellers (companies who sell our products on our behalf) and we want to track reseller opportunities in our Salesforce pipeline.
We have created a partner portal where resellers can enter the opportunities themselves, but adoption is low and the tool is not very well suited for quickly editing/collaborating.
For this reason, we switched to a very basic excel sheet per partner, where we track opportunities and stages. Then, we manually update the Salesforce pipeline ourselves.
The question is: is there a way to automate this process with Data loader, or the gsheet connector or something else? We have tried a bit of everything with no success so far.
Curious to hear if anybody else is facing the same challenges and how you tackled them.
@Roberto Passini if we look at an Opportunity owned by Partner.. there are few attributes to be considered
1. Account Name -> This is the account to which the Opportunity will be tagged with. We need this account to exist prior to Opportunity creation.
2. PartnerAccount -> This field refers to the Account that Partner belongs to and exists as a Partner User or Contact under that account.
3. Opportunity Owner or owner id -> Refers to user id of Partner who will be the Opportunity Owner.
apart from the above you need to fill other fields like StageName, Probability, Opportunity Name and Other mandatory fields in Opportunity to allow for creation
