Hypothetical question: A supporter pledges to give us $5M = $1M a year for 5 years, but under the condition is that we find donations to match it and those matching gifts must be at least $25,000 to qualify for matching. And in our case, we can meet matches of subsequent years early. So we could raise $2M this year in qualifying matches and be "ahead" for the future payouts.

From a moves management perspective, the $5M ask has been made and the donor agreed, the gift is closed/won, right?  Well, because it's conditional, the payments in future years are not receivable until we meet the match requirements (which is more like an open gift). It's nice have the opportunity age calculation stop once the ask is complete but since it's conditional should it be an open stage instead?  Some on our team want to count that $5M as fundraised, right? They believe we will meet the match and it's going to happen. But also - we shouldn't count it like we do other pledges that don't have conditions, bc what if we don't meet the match? The full pledge amount is significant and so it matters in our stats. One thought of it is creating 5 opportunities of $1M each, closing on the date that the pledge was finalized (let's say in this year), but with the future ones having unscheduled payments until we meet the match and payment dates once we get the money. But that doesn't accurately show the pledge the donor makes as one amount and it looks so messy in the opportunity history.

Also - how do you track the gifts that qualify and match? Primary Campaign Source could work, but that's already a really important field we use to track for our overall campaign management. Is there another way to link match qualifying gifts to the pledge?
