Yesterday I saw a Genie demo at the Salesforce World Tour NYC. The interface looks more like Tableau. How will you position CRM Analytics? Will it be replaced by Genie?  @Roman Michalik

Thank you for this question - I guess, you're not alone with it, @Akiko Mueller

Let me try to shed some light on it by explaining my personal view on it:

First of all, Genie is a new brand within Salesforce, not a single solution. You can compare it with the Einstein brand, which is related to all things AI within Salesforce. At the moment, the main solution we have available for Genie, is CDP (Customer Data Platform) and the connectors from Tableau and CRM Analytics to access CDP.

When you think about the announced Salesforce Data Cloud as the heart of Genie, this will give customers the chance to solve additional use cases which are not only related to the still and in future available force.com data platform. We're simply extending the range of use cases heavily.

Both the data platforms - force.com for transactional data and Genie for any other, probably real-time data - will be available for Tableau and CRM Analytics.

As long as you want to use Genie data within a process running in Salesforce, we recommend to use CRM Analytics because of its native integration (sharing the user management and security settings, the mobile availability, the action framework etc.).

If you want to use any of the data in Genie for use cases or processes outside of Salesforce, you should use Tableau.

So there will be no change of the strategy about when to use what analytics solution - it remains to depend on where and what process the end user is working.
