I submitted a case and was told that this was working as designed. But I have to say it does not make sense to me and I was wondering what others are doing to get around it.
Under My Settings > My Email Settings, we tell our users to add their signature as they want to see it on their support cases. We then use the Sender.Signature merge field in the Lightning email template to put that signature exactly where we want it.
However, it is apparently standard behavior for Salesforce to take that same signature and toss it at the bottom of all email templates. Therefore, when you go to send, it is actually there twice. The first time where you want it per the merge field, the second at the bottom.
If you remove the contents of your email signature under My Email Settings, then no signature displays at all.
Do you all just re-arrange your email template so that the signature is at the bottom (loss of flexibility)? Do you have your users copy/paste it in for each email they sent (waste of time)? I am just a bit baffled the way they handle this feature.
This is still a thing.. We have this problem as well, any fix for it?
And the link above is not working anymore.
