We're using NPSP. I have setup matching gifts, and it seems to function correctly, but I'm trying to configure an email acknowledgement template for this donation type.
Here's the problem, we find that employers who match gifts need to know the name of the employee whose gift they matched, as well as the amount the employee donated since not all match 100% of the gift.
Frequently, we're providing the information on a form when we request the match, but it would be good if the email acknowledgement contained this info also so the organization would know which gift they were being thanked for.
I've looked about everywhere I can think to find a way to include the employee name and donated amount fields in the email, but haven't been able to successfully. In the organizations matching donation, this information is shown in the soft credit area under the related tab, but calling those fields in the email returns empty results, so apparently they're not the right fields.

I'm wondering if you actually attempted this and made it work? If so,
apparently I'm doing it incorrectly.
I had tried this very thing, calling the Partial Soft Credit object
field "Amount" for example from directly in the email, and then trying
to create a custom field in the opportunity object referencing the field
in the Partial Soft Credit object. The first returned no results. The
second gives a syntax error stating that the
npsp__Partial_Soft_Credit__c field doesn't exist though that's the
correct object reference. I tried several variations on the field name
within npsp__Partial_Soft_Credit__c including the one which would seem
to be correct from the article you referenced,
npsp__Partial_Soft_Credit__c.npsp__Amount__c.
Simply viewing the record of the donation shows the data on the related
tab as mentioned in my first email, so I assume it is related in some
location I have failed to find. I found instructions for more than one
way of calling the field and have tried several with hte same results.
Thanks again for the help, anxious to hear if you actually tried the
steps and made them work.
