I recently imported a bunch of Relationship records with Type field values that were not in the Type picklist. I noticed that now those values appear in the "Inactive Values" section of the picklist.
Is it possible that NPSP added those inactive values to the picklist for me?

@John Fine It depends on whether the picklist is restricted to provided values. If restricted the new values will get rejected.
@Terry Cole I don't think it's the application anymore that puts them in as inactive, I think it was an improvement made several releases ago, but it wasn't a major enough feature to get any attention amid the myriad other major improvements that happen with a release.
