Do Affiliation records automatically the Status field to "Former" once the End Date has passed?

@Thomas Gelder​ no, I don't believe there is automation in place to do that. If you set a new Primary Affiliation for the Contact, that will automatically update the status from Current to Former and set a date though. Usually the End Date field is left empty until that Affiliation ends. In fact, due to this Issue, you should keep it empty so you don't have any data written over.
