approval process creation when ISChanged function is not working

I need to create the Notification Alert and Approval Process like if any user made any changes with Integration Start Date field(Account object) it will send the notification to Manager and with that it will send the approval to the Manager for that Integration Start Date field and once it has been approved,it will lock the record.

 

So here in this scenario, I have created the email alert through workflow through field update action as whenever any changes have been made with Integration Start date,and that field has been updated,it will send the notification alert to Manager ,but how to create the approval process for the same and then how to lock the record.I have tried to build the approval process with ischanged function by building a formula like-

 

ISCHANGED(Integration_Start_Date)

 

But here some Error is coming as: Error: Function ISCHANGED may not be used in this type of formula.

 

What formula should i build in this scenario.

 

Really Need Help.

 

Any Suggestion would be appreciable.

    Unfortunately, it's not possible to use ISCHANGE and PRIORVALUE in approval process. Please submit this question as idea to IdeaExchange.
