When I create a task, the Reminder Set checkbox is defaulting to true (checked), which automatically defaults to today and an hour ahead of curent time.  So, currently, users have to populate a due date and if they want the reminder date to match the due date, they can uncheck the Reminder Set checkbox, and re-check it - then the reminder date will match the due date.

Im trying to avoid these extra clicks and get the reminder date to automatically match the due date upon saving it.

At the very least, get the Reminder Set checkbox to default to unchecked so taht when they DO check it it will match due date.

Alternatively, I was going to use Process Builder to update the reminder set date w the Due date (date field) and a hard coded time of day, but Im having trouble getting that formula to work.

Am I missing something glaring or is there a better way to do this?  THanks in advance.

    Yes, it is possible to uncheck the reminder set field on tasks by using below 2 options.

    1. Setup -> Settings -> Calendars & Reminders -> Activity Reminders -> (Uncheck)Set default task and all-day event reminders

    2. By using data loader, you can also update the field UserPreferencesTaskRemindersCheckboxDefault to false on the user record.

    Sample Query to see the field value: SELECT Id, Name, Email, UserPreferencesTaskRemindersCheckboxDefault FROM User

    You can use the below process to set the reminder date with the due date. Refer to the screenshots below
