I'm trying to build a dashboard. My bussiness requirement is the regional manager should select the area manger
coming under him in a picklist and the dashboard should be filtered based on the Area Manger name selection.
For Eg: If I selected Michel as Area manger from the Picklist, My dashboard should show the records only for Michel.
I need to select the Area manger name from a picklist. No hardcoding filteration.
I'm using Enterprise Edition and salesforce Classic. This is an urgent requirement .
It would be a great help if anyone guides me. Thank You.

I understand but my question regarding security is important. If security would dictate how an Area Manager would see the data and the role hierarchy is set up that the Regional Manager is above the Area Managers in the role hierarchy, then you could do the following:
1) Make the Dashbaord Dynamic to run as the logged in User
2) Give the Area Managers access to the Dashboard (But, they could only view with their security so it's data they already see; But you need this to accompish Step 4)
3) On the Regional Managers' Profile(s), give them the permission for “View My Team's Dashboards”
4) This would result in the Regional Manager being able to access the dashboard and view it as themselves or view it as any of their area Managers. This then accomplishes the dynamic filtering that you want.
If you don't want to do it that way, the only alternative is to use the filter and add an option for Area Manager manually and manage that list in an ongoing basis.
