The scenario:

  1. A community member posts a question.
  2. A process builder fires and schedules an email to be sent to admins if the question has no comments in 24 hours.
  3. Same process builder scheudles another email to be sent to admins if after 7 days there is no best answer selected.
  4. Both scheduled items use auto launched flow to send the email because it has access to more of the fields on the FeedItem Question Post type than email alerts.

That all works just fine. I post a question in the community and I get two paused flow interviews as expected.

What's not happening, when someone posts an answer to the original Question Post, the paused flow interviews do not disapper.  Even though I can verify that the original comment count on the FeedItem object record went from 0 to 1.  If I select that answer as best answer, I would expect the other paused flow interview to disappear because now my orignial Question Post has an id in the BestCommentId field.   Those updates to the FeedItem object record should cause the Process Builder to re-evaluate right?

To test my process builder does work, if I edit the original post and update the question (Title on FeedItem object) or the Description (Body on FeedItem object) after there is an Answer and a Best Answer selected, the two paused flow interviews disappear because now my criteria (Type = Question Post, Comment Count = 0, and BestCommentId is null) are not true.

Why don't answers and subsequent behind the scene updates to the original Question Post cause the Process Builder to re-evaluate?  Do I need to do something to get that to work?

I'm using Process Builder because I use it to fire an Auto-launched Flow which allows me to send email with more data from the Feed Item record. Workflow rules have very limited access to the FeedItem fields, both as criteria and to use when creating an email alert.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    ok, good to know!

In that case, the related answer record (given that it isn't the original record that triggered the flow), it still won't satisfy your use case.
