Hi all,
I have Master Details relationship between an Opportunity and a custom object called Skill Set. Skill Set contains a lookup to a Skill object. If i do a global search for a skill called e.g. "ABC", i would like Salesforce to return Opportunities that have an associated Skill Set record, with a skill (lookup) of "ABC".
Is this possible? It doesnt seem to be working for me at the moment.
Am i missing something?
Thank you.

So Skill Set is a junction object between Opportunities and Skills? I think I have that right. If so you can do a bit of a workaround
- Use a workflow rule to tag the Skill Name in a hidden field in each skill set record.
- This will allow you to search Skill Set records by Skill
- Note: Skill Set records need a tab to be searchable
- In your Skill Set search results - include the Opportunity as a column
- You'll then be able to click on the Opportunity name from there
Not ideal, but it'll get you the Opportunities by searching on a skill. In order to make the search better you'll need to use custom code or some fancy flow to follow Vineet's recommendation of putting all skill values into a comma-separated text field on the Opportunity
- Use a workflow rule to tag the Skill Name in a hidden field in each skill set record.
