Check to see if your browser settings are "remembering logins for sites" or storying your "web passwords", or if there is some other password manager, like Last Pass, installed.

Salesforce has a "Remember Me" option for one or more usernames, but it does not itself save your password.

Salesforce does maintain your browser session for a time, even after you close the window. (It's an organization-wide setting under Setup/Security Controls/Session Settings.)

To force your browser session to close, from Salesforce, click your name, and then click Log Out.

If you want to stop using Remember Me:

    (1) In the login.salesforce.com dialog, click the (x) next to your username, and uncheck Remember Me.

    (2) Click the Saved Username link at the top.

    (3) Click Edit LIst, and then delete your username (again).

    (4) Click Save and Save (again).

LastPass has a nasty habit of sucking in Salesforce logins, and it's particularly hard if you log into mulitple sites. If anyone is struggling with LastPass and Salesforce Remember Me, I  have an old blog here
