I am new to SFDC.I have created custom objects on the application. May I know how can I access the same from the force.com IDE, if I will have to add some trigger, etc.

If you are a develope and have worked with other IDE's it will be farly straightforward.
Once you have installed the IDE and connected to your org, you will need to refesh the Source from the server. Tgis will bring all of the custom Apex triggers, classes and visual force pages down to your local machine.
