Why am I getting the error "There is no active Assignment Rule"?

Question

When I create a lead in salesforce and check the box at the bottom that says "Assign using active assignmetn rule"... it gives me saying there is no active assignment rule. But there is an active one, I double checked. And I double checked that it meets one of the rule criteria's within the assignment rule. This is my DEV environment, in case that matters.

Hi Katie,   This exact thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago in one of my dev orgs. I logged a case with SF and they turned the assignment rule off and then on again and it worked. Go figure. Hopefully its that simple.
