I have 2 equal team members on staff that I need to assign the same task
Could anyone outline the steps to do that?
I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

Do you want an email alert or a new task assigned? Those are two different workflow actions.
What edition of Salesforce.com are you using? Group and Professional editions do not have the workflow rule functionality unless you upgraded to it. If you are using Enterprise or Unlimited, then you have Workflow Rules included.
Click Your Name > Setup > Create > Workflows & Approvals > Workflow Rules > New
