how to create fields based on notes & attachments

After I upload a spreadsheet attachment to my customer object, I would like to create the following fields:

 

Field 1: Sum of Items Purchased

 

Field 2: Average # of Items Purchased

 

Is it possible to create fields based on attachment files?? Thank you.

    Do you want to create a field on Attachment object? or you want a field on a custom object..
