I have requirement for the Stage field has value called "Closed Lost", which has dependent pick list field Reason lost.
Reason lost has value "Dupe opp" , we want to show that value using record type only to profile "Application system administrator".
When i checked Field dependancy in the preview for Filter of Record type :are None ,Default ,Partner and Read only.
In Preview -- when i Check the Record Type as None and the Dependancy field values as "closed lost" -- it displays all the values of the field "Reason lost ".
when i Check the Record Type as Default /Partner /Read only and the Dependancy field values as "closed lost" -- it displays all the picklist values of the field "Reason lost " except one value "Dupe opp".
Any help very much appreciated.

Customize--> Opportunities--> Salesprocess--> First create a sales process and select the stage values and save it
Then create a new record type on opportunity, while creating select the salesprocess as well
select the values you want to allow in Reason Lost picklist on record type page, click on edit link next to the Reason picklist field to do this.
assign newly created recod type to the "Application system administrator" profile
