The obvious concern here would be that of security, however our company already has controls in place which lock down the workstation when it is idle for 5 mins or more.

Thanks for the feedback thus far. Just wanted to clarify that we are aware of the session time out setting in security conrols. But the session closes when the browser window is shut. We were looking for a way to perist the session even after the user has closed the browser.
