Hi Erin - you can delete your account using this link if you are the only active user in the network:
https://na1.salesforce.com/_ui/core/chatter/selfservice/DeleteChatterOrgPage
If others are active, you would need to deactivate them first by visiting their profile. If you aren't the moderator, you can see who has the permissions to do this by going to Moderator Settings.
