Salesforce Maps provides you with a default button set and mass action layout, that will allow you to utilize the application without much configuration when you first begin.  However, Maps will also allow you to customize your own button sets and action layouts to better match your use case. Below, the article, “Manage Button Sets” guides you in creating, editing, assigning, or customizing your button sets for different user groups.
