Hi,
The userinfo endpoint will return a list of fields, mostly from the user object, which includes a photos{} section with a picture and thumbnail field which returns a URL which looks like it is referencing a image share on the community. We would like to use URL's to an external service, so pictures are not stored in Salesforce, for these fields. Our idea is to use a Salesforce community endpoint to change the URL's in Salesforce for each user account on our community to reference the external URL. Please note we are not using the Community pages that may have some functionality to update a photo.
Does Salesforce provide an end point that will allow us to update the URL's associated with the photos{} section of the userinfo endpoint?
Also, where are the links stored in Salesforce for the photos{} section, in case we have to query or update those our selves?
Thank You,
Brian
Salesforce uses the photos[] section to provide Salesforce-relative image URLs - as you pointed out. They cannot be used for externally hosted imaged. I would recommend a customer attribute for that purpose.
