Hello Trailblazers,
I try to make inventory and product consumption available for our field service team. It was easy to add mobile, inventory location to each resource and insert some product items.
With the modification of some page layouts, the technician is able to see the product tab on a work order, also he can add product consumptions. He is able to serach within his own assosiated location.
What I also did:
Configured the connected app to "enable_multiple_locations" (set to TRUE).
What I expected:
The technician is able to see also the inventory of his car (assigned to the same appointment via service crew).
What I get:
No matter if the car is a child location of the same plant like the technician or from the technican itself, he is not able to see product items in the inventory of the car.
What I have tried so far:
I gave "view all" for locations to the technician (he is able to see all locations with the product items)
I have no idea what I missed.
Ok, I found my problem... the field "Parent Location" was not visible to the technician. After I change visibility, the technician see the child location and its inventory. So that is ok now.
But multiple location only works with child locations? We have Service Crews that might consists of one car and up to 3 technicians (inventory is located in the car) that all should be able to consume products from the cars inventory.
Is there a best practise how to configure multiple inventory locations with Crews? It is not possible to add multiple parents to the car ( makes sense :-) ) and to create a hirarchy makes no sense.
