I converted a couple of dashboards to Lightning dashboards so that I could create formulas in the dashboard component. Then I was told that I have to rebuild the dashboard in Lightning in order to add the component. Now I'm trying to get data in my new dashboard but I'm not getting any results. Do I have to rebuild the report in Lightning too?
This transition is the worst.
The reports you don't have to rebuild but the dashboards change up a few things (add some features) so if you want to use those features you have to rebuild. Truth be told, you could continue to do editing in classic for the dashboard and then flip back to lightning to view the final product.
There's a few features at the bottom like "detail rows" where you show and hide report data so i would make sure those settings are validated so you get your desired output. You have options here on the visualization side. I would also look at report totals so seeing 100 records in classic should let you see 100 in lightning. Nothing comes to mind on why you would see a different record count on the same report unfortunately.
