Has anyone gone from Account Contact Roles in Classic to Account Contact Relationships in Lightning? I would like some advice how to best go about the transition.
I'm also very curious how much information to move over to the Account Contact Relationship record vs. keeping it on the Contact record i.e. job title. I assume you want to keep most of it on the Contact record so you don't disrupt marketing efforts and existing reports, but any insight would be great.
Yes we migrated the records from the Contact Roles to Related Contacts during the Lightning Migration.
Few tips:
1) Even if you are rolling out lightning by user groups or Persona best to do migration all together.
2) Would need to add the related contact related list and remove contact role from Classic.
3) Every Direct contact linked to the Account automatically has a record in the Related Contact object with IsDirect = TRUE
4) Roles would need to be migrated
5) Account contact roles allow the same contact to be added multiple times with diff roles, Related contacts does not.
6) Roles is a multi picklist in Related contact so you would need to migrate the roles accordingly.
