If you are creating lightning record pages you can create multiple types to cater to the persona that will be using that record page in lightning.  You can also leverage lightning components on the record pages so Admins can move away from classic layouts in lightning.  We have developed our own dynamic lightning component that allows us to break up classic layouts so we can place fields anywhere on a lightning layout.  You can also leverage quick actions that update records and use macros against those fields on a lightning layout which will increase users productivity and allow sales and service members to work faster in the lightning experience.
