Help! We have a custom lookup field on the opportunity to hold the contact. I want to prepopulate this field with the contact that the opportunity is created from, when a user creates a new opportunity off of the contact page. I know I'll need to create a new button, telling salesforce to prepopulate this custom field but can't figure out how to write that URL hack. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dale - the contact is already being added to the contact role on the opportunity, so we're good there. I thought we could restrict it so that the opportunity is only created from the contact, but the business also wants the users to be able to create an opportunity from the account page or straight from the opportunity tab. This wouldn't require a contact to be on the opportunity, which is why we have the contact lookup field. BUT, they also want the contact to be required when creating an opportunity!
